Judy's ring

14k white gold and color change sapphire

Judy contacted me before I left for the Tucson Gemshow this year and asked me to look for a tanzanite for a new ring design. Tanzanites are a beautiful blue purple but are not that durable for a daily wear ring. Judy wanted to be able to wear her new ring all the time so I suggested a sapphire. Sapphires come in a rainbow of colors and with some searching I was able to find this color change sapphire. It was a bit nerve wracking for both us us- I was shopping and calling Judy with what I found and she was trying to decide on how to spend her budget by only looking at iPhone photos I was sending! The decision was made on this stone because of the shape and the strong hint of purple. It is more blue in natural light and appears more purple under synthetic lighting. It's almost like having two stones in one!
